Early in my career, as a school psychologist, I enjoyed working with children, helping them to achieve in school. Interacting with their parents led to an interest in learning more about how all people overcome obstacles to achieve in life—to being better, happier, more satisfied partners and parents. I decided to become a clinical psychologist, so that I’d have the opportunity to help more broadly.
Since that time, 30 years ago, I have worked with hundreds of individuals and couples, helping them to overcome marital problems, anxiety, and depression. My goal is always to support and guide them to achieve their potential for better relationships as partners, parents, and friends; for greater work satisfaction; and for finding meaning in their lives.
My work with couples over the years led me to explore and study the leading theories and practices in the field, including the work of Dr. Sue Johnson, who developed EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.) Her work has greatly advanced the success of couples therapy. I am involved in an advanced EFT training program. Using these methods, which have been found to be extremely successful, I have been able to help couples to find greater love, understanding, and closeness with their partners. I am the fortunate mother of three and grandmother of four. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, also reading, swimming, and classical music.
